淀粉机结构简单，使用方便，运转平稳，生产率高，维修便利。能够一次完成鲜薯的粗破碎、细磨浆、浆渣分离三道工序，能够重复利用浆液，减少了淀粉生产过程中的废水。

红薯淀粉分离机改变了手工生产淀粉时因氧化造成的淀粉光彩变差、变暗的现象;加工过程中被破碎打垮的粉渣在显微镜下呈丝状，有利于淀粉从纤维上游离出来，因此进一步提高了淀粉的提取率。  

薯类制粉设备主要由螺旋清洗机、刨碎分离机、磨浆分离机、渣浆分离组合筛和搅拌机等单机组合而成，特别适合于乡镇企业和户用于马铃薯和甘薯等薯类淀粉的加工。
